For the realization of this series, Serradifalco focused the satellite on the works of Land Art created between the 60s and 80s of the last century by the artists Robert Smithson, Nancy Holt, Michael Heizer, Alberto Burri and James Turrell. By incorporating the Land Art work into his shot, Serradifalco creates his Land Art work. The double level of landscape art present in his photography enables to speak explicitly of Meta Land Art, or rather a “metapicture” (Mitchell 2005). Meta Land Art’s work arises from the encounter between an artistic sign introduced into the landscape and the natural and accidental forms of the land in which it has been inserted. From this bond arises the apophenic vision of Serradifalco, where the work of Land Art loses its original meaning only to acquire another one, in the image of the new imaginary landscape.
